My little ones are miracle babies. Having gone through intensive Lyme Disease IV therapy and having a blood clotting disorder my chances of getting pregnant were slim. In December, my husband and I had a miscarriage. Just two weeks later, I suffered a torsion ovary and had a partial hysterectomy. The doctors told us we wouldn’t get pregnant and at our one month post-op, we found out we are expecting and due in October!
My husband Jack spent a year living in Hawaii doing discipleship training with an organization called YWAM. He went overseas as a missionary to Nepal for three months. He worked there with multiple organizations including beauty for Ashes and Tiny Hands. His faith and desire to serve others inspires me daily.
In 2002, my mom, sister, and myself were all diagnosed with Lyme Disease. We all went on multiple rounds of intense IV therapy. In 2010, I was named the national spokeswoman for the Clinic of Angels. They were an organization who provided therapy for Lyme Disease patients who couldn’t afford it due to insurance not covering treatment for these patients. To this day, we all three still battle this disease.
At the age of 18, my husband pursued his passion for surfing and started Jack’s Surf Lessons and Board Rentals. Due to his hard work and dedication, he has doubled his profits each year. In 2013 the surf school was named Trip Advisor’s number one attraction in Myrtle Beach and in 2015, he was awarded Trip Advisor’s Award of excellence. He is an incredible entrepreneur!
