Danielle Micale
1. My amazing husband, Randy and I have been married for 17 years. I have loved every moment especially since we are both committed to serving others. Both personally and professionally I have devoted my life to the field of healthcare, especially brain health and Alzheimer’s disease awareness and advocacy. Randy has dedicated over 25 years as a volunteer firefighter and I could not be more proud of his service.
2. I love sports and am a tomboy at heart. I enjoy interchanging my pageant heels for my sneakers to hit the basketball court or anywhere outdoors where I can take a jog or participate in a charity Mud Run. Sports actually taught me many things, but one anonymous quote can sum it up, “It’s not about being better than someone else; it’s about being better than you were the day before.”
3. One word can best describe me, which is resilient. My life has been quite full of challenging moments and I am proud to say that with each time I have fallen, I have learned to pick myself up, brush myself off and move on. The adversity that has come my way has helped me determine my true inner strength and character.
4. One of my greatest role models is Pat Summitt. She was head coach of the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team and is the all-time winningest coach in NCAA history. In 2011 she bravely revealed her diagnosis with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. She is well-respected, forthright, hardworking, ethical and above all brave. Pat is a woman of true character and integrity whom I truly admire.
