Nancy Graff
1.If you were famous what would your stage name be?
Second opportunities: My early professional life I had the privilege of caring for people as a plastic surgeon; the irony of my own health transitioning how I to continue helping others allows me to reflect that life and destiny are not always as we plan and adaptability is important.
Life also threw me a curveball in my personal life; I have two wonderful children and never planned to re-marry until a met the most incredible man and share a blended family.
2.If you would attend a celebrity wedding which, would it be?
I am doing this right now, trying to be less of an introvert by taking chances, extending myself and exploring new opportunities e.g. this pageant, joining different communities PSU LEGO First, dancing for PSU Berks...
3.What is the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
Humility. Seeing your children’s successes and acknowledging that is due more to their accomplishment than you. Just the sheer awe of seeing their bravery and beauty and the privilege of witnessing how they combine their knowledge of art and science continues to inspire me to just keep doing better, each and every day.
4.What is the most random fact you know?
Mortality is irreversible and inescapable so value every moment and live and love without regret. I lost my father to complications of anemia in 2005; my children were so young and they barely remember him so I aspire that with everything they learn from me is a testament to the knowledge, determination and kindness he imparted to me.
5.What is the one thing you’ll never do again?
Music because it has the power to nurture and soothe (like a lullaby), to acknowledge grief and help heal (like Taps) and to inspire (like the National Anthem)
