Janelle Woods-McNish - 2nd Runner-Up
1.If you were famous what would your stage name be?
I have an innate drive to make each day better than the day before. I have always been driven to work hard. Whether it’s going to school to earn my MBA or doing so while raising my family and working full time; my drive and determination have always propelled me forward. Sometimes this meant going to bed at midnight only to wake up 4am to finish school work and get the kids ready for school.
2.If you would attend a celebrity wedding which, would it be?
Enjoying mouthwatering chocolate in South Africa or soaking up the warm sun in Puerto Rico, my perfect day involves traveling and enjoying new cultures, food and experiences. My travels have taken me all across America and around the world allowing me to marvel in the beauty of every place I have visited. With ever trip I collect a new Starbucks mug; it is my guilty pleasure. I am now up to 20 mugs.
3.What is the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
My most esteemed title is “mother” and I believe my greatest gift to society is raising my kids to be contributing citizens. My role as a mother is also what drew me to become the National Spokesperson for the nonprofit Children of the Night ; an advocate for young girls who are victims of human sex trafficking. I fight to save these young girls in the same way I would fight for my own daughter.
4.What is the most random fact you know?
In my living room is a memory box with precious memories of my Grandfather, Grandmother and Mom. This box represents their life; a life spent making sacrifices for me as well as creating a foundation that I live by. The memory of my Grandmother and Mom is also the reason why I wrote my children’s book: Grandma’s Crown. This book honors our special bond and the legacy that continues through me and my daughter.
